I Need A Great Hair Color Specialist!!
Some of us are just born with hair that is naturally perfect….or so we think. I have come to the conclusion that, past the age of 16, there is no such thing as natural beauty and certainly no such thing as naturally perfect hair color. First of all, technology has taken us beyond natural perfection. If you don’t believe me then think about how white TV actor’s teeth are these days. Next to them we all look like we had our teeth fixed in Britain. And the same goes for anyone who wants a great head of hair. So? If I want a great head of hair, I need a great hair color specialist.
And thank goodness for that. Isn’t it nice to know that we have complete control over our own beauty destiny? We all can have that perfect head of hair. All we need to do is find that perfect colorist – one with taste, talent and who is on the cutting edge of the hair color industry. I live in Los Angeles, close to Beverly Hills, so you would think this was easy.
But finding a great hair colorist – even in Beverly Hills, the mecca of beauty, trends and style, is challenging. Until I found my amazing hair colorist, my need to find a hair color specialist who can turn my hair into a smooth and shining sheet of rich hair color with subtle hints of light – YES that is what I wanted! – had been met with disappointments and even disasters.
For example:
I used to get my hair colored at a local salon, and they were competent, which means my hair didn’t look bad at all. Unfortunately they did no highlights, and didn’t suggest them to naïve me, so my hair also looked like a helmet – at least in pictures.
My hair was once permed and then colored (don’t ask), which was an unmitigated disaster that I spent a solid year dealing with while I cursed the stylist daily.
I was once given bad color advice by a hair color professional in a very expensive salon in Atlanta, to “take it up a notch”, and then colored extremely well. So, I ended up with ashy “lowlights” that looked awesome from the back but that turned my skin green and sallow, leading to my needing to take heroic measures with makeup every day to try to rescue my face.
In other words, just because someone does a good job technically, it doesn’t mean they are really doing a good job. And just because your hair looks good, it doesn’t mean you look good. How Do You Find A Great Hair Color Specialist?
